Stripping Excess Parts

The vast majority of Magnum swappers are going to spend a couple of hours discarding the fuel injection and accessory equipment. The cast-off parts can pile up quickly. Consider listing these parts for sale on the internet. If you’re lucky, you might be able to find someone willing to pay for some of the cast off pieces, or perhaps you can keep them around as spares for your Ram truck .

Leftovers!

We want to emphasize how important it is to take your time during this process. Snapped bolts and studs can cause serious inconvenience and extra work.

Our most common installs end up as carbureted in classic Mopars. As such, our typical cast-offs include the entire injection assembly, clutch fan, accessories and harness, as well as the intake and exhaust manifolds, valve covers, and oil pan. Sadly, in many cases, the stock heads are cracked, and they go out for scrap as well. Note that you will want to save the stock rockers and pushrods. Be sure to dispose of the excess parts properly.

Tip: We often save the wiring harnesses in order to have a supply of OEM-style wiring — e.g., to match an existing striped wire on a factory harness. It is rare to be able to match something up exactly going from a newer truck to a classic Mopar, but it does happen!
